With only three days until all Hallow's eve, make sure you don't accidentally blow up a firework in someone's face or get stabbed repeatedly in the leg with a screwdriver.

If anyone wants to buy chocolates ($3 a box) or Student Price Cards ($7) contact Derek Gaw or Chris Fong. The SPCs are pretty useful and you save much more than seven bucks if you use them. I bought one myself already; you should too!

Yeah!!! Tripod is getting a Cgi-bin!! That means bulletin-boards, instant-post guestbooks, and on-site polls will be coming to Grad 2001 in the very near future!

Wow... I sure updated a lot today. There are new jokes, stupid sayings, and a hot/not section for those of you keeping up. I found some time to update my links page too. Since many of you seem to be indifferent about making free cash, I've decided to take that little how-to section off (it ate up half of my available space anyway).

I miss the long weekend... well, then again, so does everybody else. BTW, I think it's absolutely sickening that people are getting averages of 94%+. That's totally disgusting. Stop it before I have to barf.

Anyway, a lot has happened over the weekend. Intel has dropped a load of new processors at least tripling the speed of mine. I also watched Fight Club which didn't prove to be as bad a movie as everybody claims... I kinda liked it actually.

In his premiere as an editor on this page, Daniel Scarrow has written a critical, yet fair article. Is Grad 2001 the worst grade to ever pass through Saints? Read on to find out.

After what has been possibly the worst week ever, we're on a well deserved, very long weekend. I plan to spend it relaxing and catching up on my digital media and my web page.

What's with all you people out there who are still attached to Quake 3? Give it up! I'll admit that Quake 2 was fun and fragfilled, but it's newest reincarnation just doesn't cut it.

"Q3 is very competitive and it's not all that fun unless you're at the top of the frag list. UT on the other hand, is fun filled carnage, plain and simple."

By the request of the all mighty Sanford Kong, his picture has been removed. Anyway, in retrospect of today, I must say that it has been one of the more evil days in a while. English was bad enough with a bad test mark on the Hamlet quiz, but then in French, Collins gives us a surprise test. That was followed by a killer econ test and another socials test. Hopefully, I didn't do too badly on any of them...

Tomorrow, the we get to have lunch and games with the Japanese students, and listen to Chris Uyeda's Japanese speech! No More NEWELL!!! Yeah!!!

Bah... midterms are over and it's time to start again. The past half semester was one i'd truly like to have erased from history. I swear I must have had at least one bad test mark in every subject. Not only that, Fong backstabs me in trying to do the Georgian Cover.

Stein Divide pictures are finally posted! See them here first!

Here's a request to all of you hotties out there from Sanford Kong...

Hey Hotties!

Well, I just thought that I'd pass my pic around so people will recognize me better. If you want gimme a call! *Muah* Sanford Kong 224-0723

I've realised that procrastinion is my greatest enemy. Sorry to those people (all one of you) who check my page regularly, but I doubt anybody noticed anyway. 18 days is a long time to be lazy, but school will always take prevelance now won't it. Andrew Lee found that out the hard way. With this year being extremely decisive as to the direction of my future, I still find time to dwelve in one my of favorite hobbies: design. I hope to get some of my artwork, both new and old, and set up a gallery here on my page. Stay tuned for that!

Dan Scarrow would never make a very good journalist because he never can keep to a deadline! *hint hint*

Hi-diddily-ho neighborinos! I just have two things to get off my chest today. Kenneth is a cheating SOB., and Justin Brown is pompous POS. There. All better now. Yup. Anyway, for those of you lucky to have 3dfx cards, I wholeheartedly recommend you to download Unreal Tournemant. It's a hefty fifty megs, but to those of us with cable/dsl modems, it goes by in a snap.

PS. A complete school section will be done for Monday! Be the first to see it!

Please excuse the lack of updates recently; a flu effectively disabled me from doing anything for the last couple of days. I'll keep on doing these daily updates, and the long awaited articles and the school section are coming this weekend. Thanks to Fong for his Net News update. Now a message to our FPS enthusiasts:
Unreal Tournament D3D/OpenGL Demo will be delayed for a while as UT is being developed in Raleigh (ya know, the place with the hurricane) and the development team has evacuated the building. We wish all those under the threat of Hurricane Floyd our best and hope they will get through this impending disaster.

It's unfortunate how slowly weekends come and how quickly they go. School is back in full force and already, I can feel the homework piling up again. As Chris so eloquently put it, the key to it all is planning and not procrastinating. So as our first real week of school starts, and our first real workloads are upon us, I wish you all good luck because, now more than ever, you'll need it.

Hardware conflicts on my computer and the Emmy's kept me from doing any major updates, but I did manage to put together a makeshift guestbook page. If you have the time, sign it please!

9-9-99…..what a day! The Dreamcast. Final Fantasy VIII. The MTV Video Music Awards. And finally, school. In retrospect, the actual day was not very extraordinary, but it was what happened.

First off, another year at Saints kicked off today and while everything was expected and languid, Grade 11 has come as a shock to many of us. Not only has the normal "back to school" shock and "Frappacino withdrawal syndrome" set in, but the sheer amount of work that we all know should be done without procrastination is enough to scare even the strongest of us. This is it gentlemen, this year is the most important year of your high school career. If you screw up you screw up bad, but if you excel you'll be elevated to new heights. So decide quickly what's it gonna be, because if you're going to start something you better do it this year.

Enough about school already! How about the Dreamcast? Sega's newest, leanest, meanest console hit stores across North America today. The Dreamcast will ultimately be the judge of Sega's fate because of the lower than expected sales of Sega's brainchild in Japan. Anyway, the question that is plaguing everyone at this point is, "should I buy one?" If you've got an extra $300 sitting around then the answer is a resounding "yes!" With no new gaming console coming out for at least year and the Dreamcast's Internet connectivity and gorgeous graphics, it's money well spent. For those of us on a tighter budget, this editor recommends that you wait until September 13th, for Sony's Playstation 2 announcement (we'll keep you posted of course). If you already have a Dreamcast, we here at Grad 2001 have a few recommendations: First off, get Soul Calibur! This is the best fighting game ever according to almost every gaming magazine and web site. In terms of other games we can wholeheartedly recommend NFL 2000, Ready 2 Rumble, Trickstyle, Hydro Thunder, and Tokyo Xtreme racing.

Final Fantasy VIII? Is it the Final Fantasy we've all been waiting for? Does it live up to the Final Fantasy name? Should I buy it? If you're a PSX owner and you have an interest in RPGs buy it! Never has a game ever pushed the PSX to the limits FFVIII does. The graphics are breathtaking. The PSX shouldn't be able to do this! The soundtrack is excellent when it's good but as with all game music some of the pieces are a bit repetitive. But don't let this deter you, FFVII was just the same. If you're looking for the musical masterpiece of FFVI, look somewhere else, but FFVIII's soundtrack is nonetheless great. The new Junction battle system is intuitive and deep, albeit a bit complicated. Characters are now very unique and can be customized with the addition of Guardian Forces and different magics. Weapons and armor have been done away with, for the better, and money is only attained by regular payments made to you by SeeD. Th story is excellent and while it isn't the epic tale of FFVII, it is a much more mature and personable story, so to speak. The characters are also excellent, with the exception of Squall who, like Cloud, is often clueless, uncaring, and cold-hearted. Nevertheless, FFVIII is a slightly better game than FFVII and definitely deserves your money.

Finally, the MTV Video Music Awards. I'd like to say that Chris Rock is definitely not a great host but because he was so damned funny it made up for the rest of the crap. But about the awards in general, I cannot say that I agree with all the choices for winners; however, it was a great show and definitely worth the 3 and a half hours needed to watch it, if not for anything but Brittney!

So there we have it, the first of many "milestone" days, |9|9|99. As we lead up to the new millenium. And remember Grad 2001 will keep you posted on all the happenings in current events, the net, and within our grade. Watch for an exclusive interview by Daniel Scarrow with Ryan **** in the near future. This is contributing editor Chris Fong signing off.

School starts today, and sadly, our days of sleeping in and slacking off are over. This year will make you or break you, so remember to work hard, and party harder. On a brighter note, today is also the release date of Sega's Dreamcast, Final Fantasy VIII, and the MTV Music awards on Much at 8:30pm!!!

There are two new appointments to the Grad 2001 staff. Dan Scarrow and Mark Norman are now the co-editors-in-chief and will write articles for this page. Aside from being complete, brand new jokes have been added to the humour section . Check that out for a few laughs. BTW, if anybody has any ideas for a poll, contact me on ICQ UIN: 3680741.

I haven't hooked up my scanner yet, so that feature is going to have to wait a couple more days, okie? I did manage to update the humour section so check that out. I personally recommend the Useless Facts, but take a look at the SNL Deep Thoughts if you have the time. In other news, I've employed Chris Fong to do Net News. It debuts this Wednesday and will cover gaming, technology, and industry news.

There you have it; the layout of the main page is complete (It's just lacking content, that's all). You'll notice it's been split into three section: one devoted to the net, one for daily announcements etc., and one for department updates. I hope to have a new feature and the humour section out by tomorrow, so stay tuned for that. Peace out!

I spent a little more time on site design today. You'll notice that the tripod advertisment no longer appears, and that an archives section has been made to optimize space on the main page. The expanded links section is also complete and ready for your viewing pleasure.

Welcome back to the once again revamped Grad '01! I took a break over the summer holidays, but now, I'm back in full force. This site is still very incomplete, so bear with me. Absolutely nothing is working, so don't bother yammering "the links are broken!"; I'm going as fast as I can. This new style is optimized for speed and based on the yet to be release Homeworld interface. I like it a whole lot better than the previous one, but tell me what you think.

School starts in less than a week, and this is the last weekend of summer, so people, remember to make the most of it.
