Murder on the Nile chronicles the desperate attempts of Jacqueline de Serverac, played by newcomer Kristen Schreiner [CHS], to destroy the honeymoon bliss of her former fiancé and her supposed best friend. This newlywed couple, the Mostyns (Christine Tam [YHS] and Adam Rollins) cannot escape Jacqueline's vindictive stalking: they board The Lotus in a last attempt to fless, but Jackie soon appears. When the new bride, Kay, is murdered in the night, Jackie is not the only suspect. The scruffy young traveller, Smith, (Jonathan Messololoras) hates everything that Kay and her wealth represent. The Continental surgeon (Christopher Flak) has a long-standing vendetta against her family. Kay's French maid (Ashleigh Hayhoe [CHS]) wishes to escape from her tyranical emply. And, even her uncle, the conniving Canon Pennefather (Imran Ratanshi) has reasons to want his niece dead. Add to these the muddling antics of Miss ffoliolt-ffoulkes (Laura Nairn [CHS], and the unrelenting prude on board The Lotus, and the suspiciously subservient nature of her niece Christina (Claire Spikerman [CHS]), and you end up with an odd collection of misfits and deceivers -- all capable of murder.
